AI Cold Call Practice Tools in 2026: 10 Cold Call Simulators Compared

A practical perspective for connecting this idea to your revenue team’s next move.

For AI cold call practice, five tools name cold calls as a practice scenario on their own websites: Hyperbound, Second Nature, Yoodli, SalesHood and Mindtickle. Hyperbound Practice and Yoodli are the quickest for a rep to try alone, and Yoodli is the only one with published prices. Allego, Highspot and Showpad run AI role-play too, but their pages do not mention cold calls.

A cold call simulator gives a rep an AI prospect who is busy, pushes back and asks for an email, then scores the attempt. Below, 10 tools are compared on cold call scenarios, scoring, free trials and pricing. For volume on openers, start with the specialists; for training and certification in one system, look at the suites.

Last updated: 27 October 2026

Disclosure: Revspire publishes this list. Revspire appears once, in the enablement suite group, and is not ranked above other tools. Tools are grouped by how directly they support cold call practice and listed alphabetically within each group. Every feature and price below was checked on the vendor’s own website on 27 October 2026.

What should an AI cold call simulator do?

Most of a cold call’s skill sits in the first minute. A useful simulator should:

  • Play a prospect who did not ask to be called: busy, interrupting, and ready with “just send me an email”.
  • Start from a trigger: a new role, a funding round or a job post, ideally built from a real prospect profile.
  • Score the opener and the ask: permission-based opener, a reason tied to the prospect, one good question, a booked next step.
  • Be quick to repeat: several attempts in ten minutes, with a team view of where attempts fail.

For a broader test of realism and feedback quality, see our AI sales call simulator test.

AI role-play specialists that name cold calls

These three tools are built around practice with an AI buyer. All three list cold calls among their scenarios.

Hyperbound

  • What it does: Hyperbound Practice lets reps “rehearse cold calls, discovery, objections, and demos with an AI buyer that reacts dynamically”. A Chrome extension can spin up a bot from a prospect’s LinkedIn profile, and an uploaded call transcript can seed a persona. Scorecards can follow MEDDPICC, SPIN, Sandler, Challenger or your own framework, with criteria-level scores and transcript citations (Hyperbound Practice). The homepage sample scores an outbound opener on “Permission based opener?” (Hyperbound).
  • Pricing: not published. The pricing page names Free, Practice and Perform plans and asks visitors to book a demo (checked 27 October 2026). Our Hyperbound pricing guide has more detail.
  • Limitation: the pricing page does not say what the Free plan includes, so you cannot tell how far a rep can go before a sales conversation.
  • Choose it when: your SDRs need high-volume opener practice against bots that look like real prospects, and you may later want real-call scoring from the same vendor (its Perform product).

Second Nature

  • What it does: calls itself a “virtual pitch partner” that “uses conversational AI to have actual discussions with sales reps, scores them”. The homepage links a three-minute “Crush Cold Calling” role play, a cold call avatar and a “build your own Cold Calling role play” sample, lists 30+ languages and connects to “any LMS via SCORM or LTI” (Second Nature).
  • Pricing: not published; pricing questions go to the demo form (checked 27 October 2026). See our Second Nature pricing guide.
  • Limitation: it does not present itself as a call recorder, so real cold calls are reviewed elsewhere.
  • Choose it when: you want avatar-based cold call practice that plugs into an existing LMS.

Yoodli

  • What it does: its sales roleplay page lists “Cold calls, discovery, demos, negotiations, even multi-persona buying committees”. Teams upload talk tracks, personas, objections and methodology, and rubrics can follow Sandler, MEDDPICC, Challenger or SPIN (Yoodli sales roleplay).
  • Pricing: Starter includes 5 lifetime sessions; Pro is $8 a month billed annually (up to 10 roleplays a week); Advanced is $20 a month billed annually (unlimited roleplays). Business is per seat, billed annually, with no published price, and is where custom rubrics, dashboards and LMS and CRM integrations sit (Yoodli pricing, checked 27 October 2026).
  • Limitation: the published prices are for individuals. Custom rubrics built around your own cold call script need the Business plan, which needs a quote.
  • Choose it when: one or two reps want to start cold call practice this week at a known price, before you commit a team budget.

Enablement platforms that name cold calls

These combine role-play with training and certification, and their role-play pages list cold calls.

Mindtickle

  • What it does: the AI Sales Role Play FAQ says it can simulate “objection handling, discovery calls, cold calling” and more. It “comes with dozens of out-of-the-box buyer personas and buyer voices”, including skeptical or time-pressed ones. Feedback covers talk ratio, pace and filler words, and certification can be automated on scores you set. The page says a typical session runs 2 to 4 minutes, averaging about 3 (Mindtickle AI Sales Role Play).
  • Pricing: not published; the page says pricing “depends on factors like company size and team structure” (checked 27 October 2026).
  • Limitation: there is no self-serve free version, only a free demo.
  • Choose it when: cold call practice is one part of a wider readiness programme with onboarding and certification.

SalesHood

  • What it does: AI Role Play runs live voice conversations with an AI buyer; admins set the persona, demeanor, questions and objections. Popular uses listed include “SDR cold call simulations”. Each attempt gets “a score and written feedback”, against your own scorecard of up to 10 criteria with an 80% default pass mark for certification. Live talking avatars are in beta (SalesHood AI Role Play).
  • Pricing: not published. Plans are Essential, Pro and Unlimited, with 10, 80 or unlimited AI Pitch Practice and AI Role Play submissions per licence (SalesHood pricing, checked 27 October 2026).
  • Limitation: the pricing table caps Essential at 10 submissions per licence and does not state the period; at three attempts a day that is about three days of cold call drills.
  • Choose it when: you want cold call practice tied to onboarding and content, with a clear pass mark.

Enablement suites with general-purpose role-play

None of these pages name cold calls, so ask each vendor to run your outbound scenario in the demo.

Allego

  • What it does: AI Role Play & Coaching runs “unscripted simulations” in 32 languages with 71 voices and accents, with AI-driven scorecards; the page names “messaging rollouts, objection handling, interviews, and hot seat drills” (Allego AI Role Play & Coaching).
  • Pricing: not published; priced per user per month, billed annually upfront, with AI and support included and a typical three-year term (Allego pricing, checked 27 October 2026).
  • Limitation: a three-year typical term is a big commitment for a team that only wants opener practice.
  • Choose it when: you also want training, conversation insights and content from one vendor.

Highspot

  • What it does: AI Role Play offers multi-persona sessions with “deal champions, vendor skeptics, and economic and technical buyers”, scenarios by persona, product and objection, and “Instant AI feedback on delivery and tone” (Highspot AI Role Play).
  • Pricing: not published. Role play appears from the Better tier (Highspot pricing, checked 27 October 2026).
  • Limitation: the role-play page is built around buying committees across the deal, not single-person outbound calls.
  • Choose it when: Highspot already holds your content and you want SDR practice in the same place.

Revspire

  • What it does: an AI sales enablement platform. AI Sales Training & Coaching offers AI video role-play of buyer conversations, deal-specific objection practice with battle cards, and instant AI scoring for clarity, confidence and objection handling, with team readiness tracking and certification without a separate LMS.
  • Pricing: priced by module with unlimited user licenses; about $25,000 USD a year on average (Revspire pricing).
  • Limitation: Revspire does not record or score real calls; its Conversation Intelligence module is listed as coming soon. Its page does not describe a cold call scenario library, so outbound openers are set up as your own buyer conversations.
  • Choose it when: you want SDRs and account executives practising the same objections and battle cards they will meet later in deals, alongside governed content.

Showpad

  • What it does: Roleplay AI turns existing content into scenarios with an “AI buyer avatar that knows your industry, can object or interrupt, and asks follow-ups”. Difficulty runs “from Basic to Expert”, and scoring supports up to 10 weighted categories (Showpad Roleplay AI).
  • Pricing: not published; Roleplay AI is listed on the Advanced and Expert plans, not Professional (Showpad pricing, checked 27 October 2026).
  • Limitation: the page does not name cold calls and is inconsistent on language support (14 in the FAQ, 35+ elsewhere).
  • Choose it when: you want interruptions and adjustable difficulty, and Showpad already runs your content.

Practice built from your recorded calls

Gong Enable

  • What it does: AI Trainer turns “past calls into realistic role-play scenarios” for skills such as discovery, objection handling and negotiation, and Dry Run lets reps rehearse upcoming meetings with live AI role-play (Gong Enable).
  • Pricing: not published. Gong prices licences per user with “a platform fee based on the number of users supported” (Gong pricing, checked 27 October 2026). See our Gong Enable pricing guide.
  • Limitation: it does not mention cold calls, and it offers no free trial.
  • Choose it when: your team already records outbound calls in Gong and you want practice drawn from them.

We also checked Quantified, whose role-play uses healthcare professional personas for regulated industries; it does not position itself for cold calling.

Worked example: a two-week cold call sprint for 8 SDRs

Harlow Ridge Payroll (fictional) has 8 SDRs whose meetings booked fell after a new script. The enablement lead runs a two-week sprint of three AI attempts per rep per day.

Days

Scenario

Pass bar

1 to 3

Opener and reason for the call, from a funding-round trigger

Prospect agrees to keep talking

4 to 6

“Just send me an email” brush-off

Rep asks one qualifying question before agreeing

7 to 10

Full call to a meeting request

Specific date and time proposed

Scorecard: permission-based opener, reason tied to the prospect, one open question, next step booked (0 to 2 each, pass at 6 of 8). Fictional company.

Time cost: Mindtickle says a typical session runs 2 to 4 minutes, averaging about 3, so three attempts take about 9 minutes a day, or 30 attempts per rep over ten days and 240 across the team. Licence cost, using the only published prices: 8 reps on Yoodli Advanced at $20 a month billed annually is $20 x 8 x 12 = $1,920 a year at list. That buys unlimited individual roleplays, but not the custom rubric above, which needs Yoodli’s quoted Business plan. Ask the others to quote the same 8 seats.

How do you choose an AI cold call practice tool?

  • Test with your real brush-offs. Give each vendor your three most common first-15-second objections.
  • Check who builds the scenarios. Some tools generate bots from your ICP or a prospect profile; others expect enablement to write them.
  • Price practice volume. Submission caps and individual-versus-team plans change the real cost.
  • Decide whether you need real-call review. Hyperbound Perform and Gong score live calls; most others here do not.
  • Pilot for two weeks. Track attempts per rep and the scorecard pass rate, then compare with live call outcomes.

For role-play beyond cold calling, see our AI sales role-play software guide. To practise deal objections with battle cards, book a Revspire demo.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best AI cold call practice tool?

For dedicated practice, Hyperbound, Second Nature and Yoodli all name cold calls as a scenario. SalesHood and Mindtickle add it to wider readiness platforms. Allego, Highspot and Showpad run role-play but do not mention cold calls.

Is there a free cold call simulator?

Yoodli’s Starter plan includes 5 lifetime sessions, Hyperbound names a Free plan and links a public roleplay trial, Second Nature links sample cold call role plays from its homepage, and Mindtickle offers a free demo at roleplay.mindtickle.com. None of these is a full team plan.

How do you practise cold calling with AI?

Pick one trigger, write a short buyer brief, and run three short attempts a day against an AI prospect. Score the opener, the reason for the call, one question and the next step, then retry the weakest part. Our sales role-play scenarios include cold call openers you can load.

Can AI cold call practice replace live calls?

No. It replaces practising on real prospects, not the calls themselves. Reps fix the opener before it costs a real conversation.

How long should a cold call practice session be?

Short. Mindtickle says a typical AI role-play session runs 2 to 4 minutes, so three attempts a day takes about ten minutes.
