Gong or Hyperbound: which should you choose?

Gong vs Hyperbound compares a revenue AI platform with a role-play specialist. Choose Gong to record and analyse every customer conversation, with Gong Enable for AI role play. Choose Hyperbound for AI role play and real-call scoring, with Kota agents and a Free plan.

Choose Gong if…

  • You want the system of record for conversations: Gong's Revenue AI OS spans Gong Engage, Gong Forecast, Gong Enable, Gong Agents and the Revenue Graph, and Gong says it serves more than 5,000 companies.
  • You want practice built from your own calls: Gong Enable's AI Trainer turns past conversations into role-play scenarios, and Dry Run rehearses upcoming meetings with live AI role play.
  • You want many pre-built agents: Gong lists AI Call Reviewer, AI Deal Predictor, AI Briefer, AI Data Extractor and others, plus custom agents in Agent Builder.
  • You want Gong data in other AI tools: Gong MCP lets Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot ask about accounts and deals, on any Gong plan.

Choose Hyperbound if…

  • Practice is the product, not an add-on: Hyperbound Practice builds AI buyers from your product, ICP and messaging, or from a prospect's LinkedIn profile, in 30+ languages.
  • You already record calls elsewhere: Hyperbound Perform scores real calls against your scorecards using its own recorder or "the tool you're already using".
  • You want to try before you buy: Hyperbound lists a Free plan beside Practice and Perform; Gong Enable offers no free trial.
  • You want demo practice: Hyperbound lets reps practise demos "with AI that understands what's on your screen".

What is the difference between Gong and Hyperbound?

Gong starts from recorded conversations and builds outwards. It calls itself the "#1 AI OS for Revenue Teams" and lists Gong Engage, Gong Forecast, Gong Enable, Gong Agents, the Revenue Graph and the Gong Collective partner network (Gong). Its enablement product, Gong Enable, adds AI Trainer role play built from past calls, AI Call Reviewer scoring, AI Coach follow-ups, Dry Run rehearsals, Lessons and Initiative Tracking. Gong lists no content library or digital sales rooms.

Hyperbound starts from practice and builds towards real calls. It calls itself "the Revenue Activation Platform" (Hyperbound) and sells three products: Practice for AI role play, Perform for scoring real calls against customisable scorecards with real-time in-call coaching, and Kota Activate, an agent that connects calls, deals and practice to coaching and next steps. It names Salesforce, HubSpot, Slack, Zoom, Gong and Microsoft Teams as integrations.

So the two overlap in the middle: both score calls and both run AI role play. Gong is broader and records everything; Hyperbound is narrower and goes deeper on practice. Gong is on Hyperbound's integrations list, so the two can run side by side.

How do Gong and Hyperbound compare on AI role play and call scoring?

Hyperbound publishes more about how role play works. Practice generates AI buyers "based on your product, ICP, and messaging", can spin up a bot from a prospect's LinkedIn profile with a Chrome extension, turns an uploaded transcript into a persona that is about 85% ready, lets you set job titles, industries, objections and emotional tones, scores against your methodology, and runs in 30+ languages. Certifications and ramping difficulty give reps a path, and an LMS or CMS integration keeps results in sync.

Gong's AI Trainer works from your own history: it turns past customer conversations into role-play scenarios for discovery, negotiation and other skills, and Dry Run lets a rep rehearse an upcoming meeting live. Gong Enable's page does not list languages or persona settings in text, and it says Enable "doesn't offer a free trial".

On real calls, Gong records and transcribes every conversation and its AI Call Reviewer scores calls automatically (Gong Agents). Hyperbound Perform can use "Hyperbound's native call recorder or connect the tool you're already using", analyses conversations across the full deal, and pushes insights into your CRM.

How do Gong and Hyperbound compare on agents and pricing?

Gong lists more agents: AI Data Extractor, AI Trainer, AI Theme Spotter, AI Briefer, AI Builder, AI Tracker, AI Call Reviewer, AI Tasker, AI Composer, AI Deal Reviewer, AI Deal Monitor, AI Deal Predictor, AI Revenue Predictor and others, plus Custom Agents built in Agent Builder. Its help centre says Gong MCP works with Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot on "Any Gong plan" (Gong MCP). Hyperbound's Kota is one agent "grounded in your actual sales data" that spots coaching gaps, produces reports and builds role-play scenarios; its sample workflow sends a Slack alert when a deal stalls.

Neither publishes prices. Gong says "Licenses are priced per user" and "There is a platform fee based on the number of users supported", and that integrations are free (Gong pricing). Vendr reports a median Gong contract of $55,430 a year from 1,146 purchases (range $11,502 to $203,598), last updated March 2026, across all Gong products rather than Enable alone. Hyperbound's pricing page names Free, Practice and Perform plans with no prices and asks visitors to book a demo; we found no dated Hyperbound benchmark with a stated sample size.

On scale: Gong said on 12 May 2026 that ARR had passed $500 million with growth above 55% a year (Gong), and says it is a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Revenue Action Orchestration. Hyperbound raised a $15 million Series A led by Peak XV Partners in September 2025 (press release) and says it is named in Gartner's Market Overview for B2B Sales AI Roleplay Applications.

Frequently asked questions

Is Hyperbound a Gong alternative?

Partly. Hyperbound overlaps with Gong Enable on AI role play and call scoring, and its Perform product can record calls with its own recorder. It does not offer Gong's forecasting or sales engagement products, and it lists Gong as an integration, so the two can run side by side.

How much do Gong and Hyperbound cost?

Neither publishes prices. Gong prices licences per user plus a platform fee, and Vendr reports a median Gong contract of $55,430 a year (1,146 purchases, March 2026) across all Gong products. Hyperbound names Free, Practice and Perform plans and asks visitors to book a demo.

Does Gong have AI role play?

Yes, in Gong Enable. AI Trainer turns past customer conversations into role-play scenarios, AI Coach answers follow-up questions after each session, and Dry Run lets reps rehearse upcoming meetings with live AI role play. Gong Enable has no free trial.

Does Hyperbound record calls?

It can. Hyperbound Perform says you can "Use Hyperbound's native call recorder or connect the tool you're already using", then score calls against customisable scorecards and get real-time in-call coaching.
