Two AI role-play specialists compared on practice formats, real-call scoring, integrations, security, pricing and when to choose each.

Updated By Kavyashree SB

Hyperbound or Second Nature: which should you choose?

Hyperbound vs Second Nature compares two AI role-play specialists; neither publishes prices. Choose Hyperbound to score real calls from Gong and other recorders, then send reps into targeted practice. Choose Second Nature for video-avatar simulations, scored certifications and role plays embedded in your LMS.

Choose Hyperbound if…

  • You record calls in Gong, Chorus, Salesloft or Outreach and want them imported and scored against your own scorecards.
  • Your reps run cold, warm and discovery calls, and you want buyer bots built from a job title, a scenario and a target company.
  • You want an AI Coach that sends reps from gaps found on real calls to targeted role plays, plus battlecards during live calls.
  • You want agents (Kota) that, in Hyperbound's example workflow, flag a stuck deal and alert the rep and manager in Slack.

Choose Second Nature if…

  • You want reps to practise with video avatars, multi-persona meetings, slide presentations and screen-share demos.
  • You run certifications through an LMS: it offers a built-in LMS or SCORM and LTI embedding, and names Cornerstone, Docebo, SuccessFactors and Adobe Learning Manager.
  • Your security review asks for vendor certifications: its Enterprise page lists SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001, plus GDPR, CCPA and HIPAA compliance.
  • You train customer support, call-centre or HR teams as well as sales, in more than 25 languages and 12+ English accents.

What is the difference between Hyperbound and Second Nature?

Both sell AI role play and coaching rather than a full enablement suite, but they start from different places. Hyperbound, founded in 2023 and backed by Y Combinator, calls itself a revenue activation platform with three products: Practice for AI role play, Perform for scoring real sales calls, and Kota Activate for agents (Hyperbound). Its bots are organised by call type: cold, warm, discovery and customer check-in calls, plus post-sales role plays for renewals and upsells. A cold call bot is set up from a job title, a pre-built scenario such as "using a competitor", and a company name the AI researches, with an emotional state that runs from "Kind (easy) to Rude (hard)".

Second Nature is older: its Series B release says it was founded in 2019. Its homepage leads with "AI Role Plays and Coaching that Turn Training into Go-To-Market Execution" and shows moving video avatars and multi-persona meetings for B2B and B2C (Second Nature). Its product page lists four simulations: video calls, slide presentations given to its AI coach, Jenny, webcam pitch recordings and screen-share product demos. Role plays are built by uploading PDFs, PowerPoint, Word or audio files, or from templates aligned with MEDDPICC, BANT and SPIN (FAQ). Certifications, a built-in LMS, gamification and Deal Coach sit around them.

Neither describes a sales content library or digital sales rooms on its product pages, and we found no integration between the two. Both list call centres and financial services among their markets. Hyperbound also targets B2B SaaS and sales trainers and agencies; Second Nature lists insurance, technology, telco and education, and use cases in customer support, HR and learning and development.

How do Hyperbound and Second Nature score and coach reps?

Hyperbound scores practice sessions and real calls. Its Gong integration imports recorded calls automatically and scores them "within a few minutes" of Gong processing them, and its help centre also documents Salesloft, Chorus, Clari Copilot, RingCentral, Modjo, Outreach and Salesfinity, plus Hyperbound's own meeting recorder. The AI Coach listens to real calls first, then directs sellers to role plays aimed at the gaps it found. Live Call Coaching shows battlecards and playbook checklists during calls, and Kota agents use call data, scorecards and CRM inputs to build reports and coaching scenarios; its example flags a stuck deal and sends a Slack alert to the rep and manager.

Second Nature's scoring is built around practice. Its FAQ says the AI scores knowledge (accuracy and topic coverage) and style (pace, clarity, energy and filler words), weighted 70% and 30% by default, within 45 to 90 seconds. Managers can change the criteria and add manual evaluations for certification, reps can ask for a score review, and reports include proficiency heatmaps. Deal Coach gives reps "targeted AI-driven coaching on live deals". Second Nature uses recorded calls and uploaded audio to build role plays, but on the pages we checked it does not describe scoring real customer calls, so ask in a demo if you need that.

Hyperbound or Second Nature: which is better for enterprise?

Second Nature states more security detail on its public pages. Its Enterprise page lists SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001 certification, GDPR, CCPA and HIPAA compliance, and SSO and SCIM through Okta, Azure, AD and Ping Identity. Its FAQ says data is stored in a Google Cloud data centre in the Netherlands, its language models are hosted on Azure, and customer data is not used for model training. Hyperbound shows SOC 2 and GDPR badges and calls itself a "SOC 2 compliant platform" on its enterprise page, but that page does not state the report type and its trust centre did not load for us, so ask for its trust documents.

Integrations and languages differ too. Hyperbound documents Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics for CRM, plus Slack, Google Workspace, Outlook, SCORM and Workday Learning (help centre). Second Nature names Salesforce, HubSpot and Zoom, and embeds in an LMS through SCORM or LTI. Second Nature says it supports more than 25 languages, including 12+ English accents, though its homepage says 30+. Hyperbound bots can run in several languages, with feedback in English and the rep's own language, but voice selection is English only.

Both are independent and venture-backed, with no acquisition announced as of 16 October 2026. Second Nature raised a $22 million Series B in October 2025, led by Sienna VC with Zoom among the investors, and names Oracle, Zoom, Adobe, Teleperformance, Check Point and GoHealth as customers. Hyperbound raised a $15 million Series A led by Peak XV Partners in September 2025 and names Autodesk, Monday.com, Bloomberg and Hub International (YourStory). In September 2026, Richardson Sales Performance launched AI role play built on Hyperbound inside its Accelerate Prism programme.

How does Hyperbound pricing compare to Second Nature pricing?

Neither publishes prices. Hyperbound's pricing page names Free, Practice and Perform plans and asks visitors to book a demo; no prices or plan contents appeared in the page text on 16 October 2026. Second Nature routes pricing questions to a demo, and its homepage offers a free role play to try. Its G2 listing, with pricing information last updated on 12 November 2025, says "Minimum average deal starts at 20K USD".

We found no dated third-party benchmark with a stated sample size for either vendor. Vendr shows figures for both, but without sample sizes or update dates, so we do not repeat them. When you compare quotes, ask whether real-call scoring sits only in Hyperbound's Perform plan, what the free plan or free role play includes, and whether LMS, CRM and call-recorder integrations, extra languages and onboarding are in the price. Second Nature's FAQ says its enterprise package includes five training sessions and mentions quarterly business reviews.
