What does DocSend charge for each plan?
DocSend pricing is published. Billed yearly, Advanced costs $150 a month and Advanced Data Rooms $180 a month, each with 3 users included; billed monthly, $250 and $300. Personal and Standard per-user prices differed between two views of the page on 20 October 2026.
DocSend publishes its prices. Its pricing page has a toggle between "Billed monthly" and "Billed yearly (Save up to 40%)", and the Standard, Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms buttons read "Get Started Free". Two plans showed the same figures in every view we checked on 20 October 2026: Advanced at $150 a month and Advanced Data Rooms at $180 a month, each with 3 users included, which the browser view labels as the yearly-billing prices. Billed monthly, they cost $250 and $300 a month.
The cheaper plans were not consistent. A browser view of the page, from France with prices in US dollars, showed four plans, with yearly billing selected by default:
| Plan | Billed yearly | Billed monthly | Users |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal | $10/user/month | $15/user/month | Per user. Not listed in a text read of the same page that day. |
| Standard | $45/user/month, marked "Most Popular" | $65/user/month | Per user. A text read the same day showed $30/user/month with 1 user included. |
| Advanced | $150/month | $250/month | 3 users included |
| Advanced Data Rooms | $180/month | $300/month | 3 users included |
Two separate text reads of the same URL that day showed a different list: no Personal plan, Standard at "$30/user/month" with "1 user included", Advanced at "$150/month" and Advanced Data Rooms at "$180/month" with "3 users included", Advanced rather than Standard marked "Most Popular", and a Contact Sales card for custom solutions. That version did not say which billing option its prices reflect, though its Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms figures match the yearly prices above.
DocSend appears to show different plan lists by region or page variant. Before you budget, open the pricing page yourself, from the region you will be billed in, and set the toggle to the billing option you will actually pay.
DocSend is part of Dropbox and is sold as Dropbox DocSend. Dropbox agreed to buy it for $165 million in cash on 9 March 2021 and completed the deal on 22 March 2021.
How much does DocSend cost per year and per user?
Multiplying the browser-view prices by 12 gives the annual cost. Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms are flat prices that include 3 users, so their figures are for the plan, not per person:
| Plan | A year, billed yearly | A year, billed monthly (x12) | Saving on yearly billing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal | $120 per user | $180 per user | 33% |
| Standard | $540 per user | $780 per user | 31% |
| Advanced (3 users) | $1,800 | $3,000 | 40% |
| Advanced Data Rooms (3 users) | $2,160 | $3,600 | 40% |
The "Save up to 40%" label is exact for Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms; the per-user plans save 31% to 33%. In the text version, Standard at $30 per user per month would be $360 a year for one user, if that is the yearly rate.
Per person, Advanced works out to $50 a user a month and Advanced Data Rooms to $60 when billed yearly, if all three included seats are used. Three Standard seats at the browser-view $45 would cost $135 a month, close to Advanced's $150, which adds the security controls and data rooms described below. Whether Standard can be bought for more than one user is unclear: the text version lists "1 user included" and gives no price per extra user on any plan.
A footnote says that since 1 March 2022 sales tax has been included automatically in jurisdictions where Dropbox is registered, so your invoice may differ from the list price. We found no dated third-party benchmark with a stated sample size for DocSend.
What does each DocSend plan include?
The plan cards build on each other. We did not record the contents of the Personal plan, which appeared only in the browser view.
| Plan | What the card lists |
|---|---|
| Standard | Multi-file sharing, video and rich media analytics, file requests, customisable branding, unlimited eSignature, basic sharing controls, document-level analytics and unlimited visitors. |
| Advanced | Adds 3 users, "Lightweight data rooms (Spaces)", email authentication for visitors, allow and block lists, NDAs and gating agreements, folder- and file-level security and dynamic watermarking. |
| Advanced Data Rooms | Adds enhanced data rooms, group visitor permissions, due diligence tracking, a data room audit log, automatic file indexing, data room analytics, priority email support and "2X capacity per data room". |
According to the pricing table, Standard, Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms all get unlimited eSignature requests, unlimited data rooms and data room visitors, 50 GB of storage per user and a 2 GB maximum upload. eSignature allows up to ten signers per document with an audit trail, and DocSend states compliance with E-Sign and UETA. The one-click NDA asks viewers to sign before they open a document; NDAs and gating agreements first appear on the Advanced plan card.
Branding covers a subdomain on your links, a logo, an accent colour and a website URL; the branding help article does not describe a fully custom domain. The DocSend MCP server, in beta, connects ChatGPT, Claude, Codex CLI and Microsoft Copilot for Standard, Advanced, Advanced Data Rooms and Enterprise users; Personal is not on that list.
How do DocSend data rooms affect the price?
The pricing table suggests data rooms are not charged per room: it lists unlimited data rooms on Standard, Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms. The pricing FAQ asks "Do I have to pay for each Data Room?", but no answer appears in the page text. What changes by plan is capacity: 200 assets per room on Standard, 2,000 on Advanced and 4,000 on Advanced Data Rooms.
The pages disagree on where data rooms start. The Advanced card lists "Lightweight data rooms (Spaces)" as an Advanced addition, while the table gives Standard 200 assets per room and the Spaces help article (modified 21 May 2026) says Spaces are on Standard, Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms. If you need a data room on Standard, confirm it before you buy.
Advanced Data Rooms costs $30 a month more than Advanced billed yearly ($360 a year) and $50 more billed monthly. The plan's help article says it "includes 3 licenses" and adds up to 4,000 assets in Spaces, data room analytics, file indexing, audit logs and group permissions. It is also the only plan with the Diligence tracker, announced on 13 February 2026, which adds checklists, tasks for internal and external collaborators, deadlines, CSV-imported templates, automated reminders and bulk updates.
What costs extra on DocSend?
The pricing page marks the first three as "Additional cost add-on, contact our sales team for details" and prices none of them:
- Salesforce. An add-on on Standard, Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms. It logs document visits and link creations as Salesforce Tasks, with visit length and percentage viewed (help article). HubSpot is not among the 11 integrations on DocSend's integrations page.
- Sub-teams. An add-on on Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms.
- Single sign-on. The table lists SSO (Okta, OneLogin, Azure) as an add-on on Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms, but the SSO help article points customers who want SSO to sales for information on "upgrading to DocSend's Enterprise plan", whose price and contents are not published.
- Extra users. The text version of the pricing page shows no price for users beyond those included on any plan.
Does DocSend have a free trial or discounts?
New sign-ups go automatically onto a 14-day trial of Advanced Data Rooms. The trial article caps it at 500 uploaded documents, 20 team members and 50 signatures, with no .zip or .rar files, no Space notifications and no external URL link sharing. Without a card on file at the end, the account moves to a free limited trial plan and links that use premium features are disabled.
Two discounts are stated. Yearly billing saves up to 40%, as above. US nonprofits with valid 501(c)(3) status that appear in the IRS Tax Exempt Organization Search can get 30% off any subscription plan, applied for by the account owner through support. Neither the pricing page nor the help articles we checked state a startup discount.
What should you ask DocSend before you buy?
- Which plans and prices apply in your billing region, and is the price you see the monthly or yearly rate?
- Is the Personal plan still sold, and can Standard be bought for more than one user?
- What does each user beyond those included cost on Standard, Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms?
- What do the Salesforce, Sub-teams and SSO add-ons cost, and does SSO need the Enterprise plan?
- Do your data rooms fit within 200, 2,000 or 4,000 assets per room, and what happens when a room is full?
- Is yearly billing charged upfront, and what are the cancellation and refund terms? The pricing page states none.
