Does Crayon publish its pricing?
Crayon pricing is not published: its pricing page says pricing "is tailored to the needs of your competitive intelligence program" and asks you to request an estimate. Vendr's February 2026 data (93 purchases) puts the median Crayon contract at $30,000 a year.
No. Crayon's pricing page, titled "Pricing Inquiry" and headed "Crayon: Competitive Intelligence Without Limits", showed no plans, prices, currency, billing unit, seat counts, free trial or contract terms when we checked on 21 October 2026. It says "Crayon's pricing is tailored to the needs of your competitive intelligence program", asks you to "Tell us a little bit about yourself—including your CI goals" and offers "Request an Estimate". The homepage offers "Get a demo" and "Take a product tour" and describes no free trial or free plan.
The pricing page also says "It doesn't matter how many competitive assets you'll create or how many stakeholders need access", without saying how that bears on price. Vendr, which says "Crayon does not publish list pricing publicly", describes a "quote-based model where pricing is customized to each buyer's requirements" and says "Per-seat pricing often decreases with volume." Ask Crayon directly whether your quote counts seats and, if so, who counts as one.
What does Crayon include? Monitoring, battlecards and AI
Crayon calls itself "a competitive intelligence platform that monitors your competitors and enables your sales team with real-time intelligence" (Crayon). Its homepage and product pages describe these parts, none with a price:
| Area | What Crayon lists |
|---|---|
| Intel collection | "Website changes, pricing updates, news announcements, support documents, customer reviews...we collect it all", plus field intel from Slack and calls from Gong, Chorus and Clari |
| Analyze | Competitor monitoring with AI news summarisation, AI importance scoring and an inbox of high-priority insights |
| Enable | Battlecards in Salesforce, Slack, Highspot and other tools, announcements and newsletters |
| Compete | Intel search, a team leaderboard and 1:1 manager coaching |
| Measure | Win/loss analysis, engagement data and influenced revenue |
| Crayon Answers | A "generative AI-powered compete assistant" that answers competitive questions in real time |
| Sparks | An "AI-research tool" that can be scheduled to track competitor changes such as pricing updates |
Crayon's pages do not say which of these come with every subscription. Vendr says "Battlecards, custom integrations, dedicated customer success, and professional services can add 15–30%", while Crayon's homepage lists battlecards as part of Enable, so ask whether battlecards are in the package you are quoted.
What does Crayon track, and how does its AI help?
Crayon's aggregation page, headed "Capture intel from places that matter most", says it monitors a competitor's "entire digital footprint" and shows before-and-after views of changed web pages. It adds field intel from Slack, deal intel from Gong, Chorus and Clari call recordings, and findings from win/loss interviews and surveys. The page names no count of sources.
On AI, the same page says "Every time you log into Crayon, our AI flags new insights worthy of your attention", that Crayon AI can summarise an insight to share, and that a morning email digests the previous day's key insights. Crayon's Enable page adds Crayon Answers and Sparks, which can run "on a regular basis". The pages we checked name no AI agents and no MCP server, and do not say whether Sparks or Crayon Answers cost extra, so ask.
Where do Crayon battlecards appear? Salesforce, Slack and Highspot
Crayon's integrations page groups its integrations by category. Its CRM integrations, Salesforce, HubSpot and FreshSales, "Embed battlecards directly into open opportunity records—and ingest valuable win/loss data when those opportunities close." Its sales enablement list is long: ClickUp, Confluence, Freshworks, Guru, Highspot, Notion, Seismic, SharePoint, Showpad and Welcome, to "Make your sales enablement hub a one-stop shop for all of your go-to-market materials".
Microsoft Teams, Slack and Yammer are listed for collaborating on CI data, Chorus and Gong for field intelligence, and Azure, Google, JumpCloud, Okta and OneLogin for single sign-on. The Enable page says reps can submit intel "through Crayon directly or through an integration, such as Slack." Crayon gives no integration prices; Vendr counts custom integrations among the add-ons that can add 15–30%.
How much does Crayon cost per year?
Vendr reports a median Crayon contract of $30,000 a year from 93 purchases (last updated February 2026), with a low of $12,700 and a high of $46,000, and says buyers saved 20% on average. The page header shows 72 deals handled rather than 93, an average contract value of $30,000 and average savings of 20.19%, without explaining the gap, so treat the figures as directional. They are Vendr estimates from purchase data, not Crayon prices.
Vendr says "Crayon offers three primary tiers—Essentials, Professional, and Enterprise". Those names are Vendr's; Crayon's pricing page names no plans, and neither gives a per-seat figure, so ask Crayon for seats, package and add-ons as separate lines before you compare a quote with the median.
Vendr's median for Klue is also $30,000 a year, from 106 purchases (February 2026), with a wider range of $16,000 to $60,000 (Vendr). See our Klue pricing guide and Klue vs Crayon comparison.
What drives the cost of a Crayon contract?
Crayon says its pricing is tailored to your CI programme; the inputs below other than that come from Vendr's observations, not Crayon terms:
- Your CI programme. Crayon says pricing "is tailored to the needs of your competitive intelligence program", and its estimate form asks about your CI goals.
- Seats. Vendr says "Per-seat pricing often decreases with volume." Crayon's pricing page says the number of stakeholders who need access "doesn't matter", so confirm how your quote counts users.
- Tier. Vendr names three tiers, Essentials, Professional and Enterprise. Crayon names no plans.
- Add-ons. Vendr says battlecards, custom integrations, dedicated customer success and professional services can add 15–30%.
- Term. Vendr says "Multi-year commitments commonly yield lower effective annual pricing compared to one-year agreements" and that "Crayon often offers discounts for longer commitments".
- Renewals. Vendr says "Crayon contracts often include annual price escalation clauses (typically 3–7%)." Crayon's pages state no contract length.
Who owns Crayon, and has it merged with anyone?
Crayon's about page lists Jonah Lopin as founder and CEO and gives its headquarters as "Crayon HQ, 280 Summer Street, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210"; it shows Baird Capital, Founder Collective and Baseline Ventures as investors, with no amounts. The latest funding we found is a $22 million Series B led by Baird Capital, announced on 4 May 2021, which Crayon said brought its "total capital raised to date" to $38 million (Business Wire).
The pages we checked show no later funding, and no merger, acquisition or ownership change involving Crayon in 2025 or 2026, including with Klue. The Crayon pages we checked state no security certifications, so ask Crayon for its current security and compliance documentation.
What should you ask Crayon before signing?
- Which package is the quote for, and are battlecards, Crayon Answers and Sparks included or priced as add-ons?
- Is the price based on seats? If so, do sellers who only read battlecards in Salesforce, Slack or Highspot count as seats?
- How many competitors and sources does the package track, and what happens if you add competitors mid-contract?
- Are the Salesforce, Highspot, Seismic and Gong integrations included, or quoted as custom integrations?
- Are dedicated customer success and professional services in the quote, and what do they cost as separate lines?
- What are the contract length, renewal terms and annual escalation? Vendr reports clauses of typically 3–7%, so ask for a renewal cap in writing.
