Gong or Salesloft: which should you choose?
Gong vs Salesloft compares two overlapping revenue platforms whose websites show no prices. Choose Gong for conversation intelligence first, with Engage, Forecast and Enable coaching added. Choose Salesloft, merged with Clari in December 2025, for sales engagement with Clari forecasting and deal inspection.
Choose Gong if…
- You want conversation intelligence at the core: Gong captures calls, emails and meetings and analyses them for topics, objections, competitor mentions and buying signals.
- You want AI role play and coaching from the same vendor: Gong Enable lists AI Trainer voice role play, AI Coach, Dry Run and AI Call Reviewer, while Salesloft does not list a training or role-play module on its product pages.
- You want to build up from one core licence: Gong Engage, Forecast Essentials or Gong Forecast, Enable and Data Cloud are added to a Gong Foundation licence.
- Your AI governance review asks for ISO/IEC 42001: Gong's trust page lists it beside SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001, and Salesloft's security page does not mention it.
Choose Salesloft if…
- Sales engagement is your starting point: Cadence covers multi-channel cadences, an email step builder, a dialer, a mobile app with Conductor AI task prioritisation and a meeting scheduler.
- You want Clari forecasting beside engagement: Clari Forecast adds an AI Forecast Agent and an AI projection beside plan and commit figures, and Inspect flags risky commit deals.
- You run deal reviews on a methodology: Deals fills MEDDPICC, BANT and SPICED views from call transcripts and adds a Deal Engagement Score.
- You already use Clari: since the merger closed on 3 December 2025, Clari Forecast and Inspect sit on Salesloft's platform beside Cadence, Deals and Rhythm.

Its AWS Marketplace listing shows one 12-month "Salesloft Platform" contract at $26,400, which it says is billed per user but with no seat count stated; it is a single Marketplace listing, not a list price. |
| Third-party price data | Vendr median $55,359 a year; range $11,497 to $203,683; 1,145 purchases; March 2026. Vendr puts mid-market and enterprise seats at $1,200 to $2,400 a year. | Vendr median $30,740 a year; range $5,152 to $146,494; 710 purchases; February 2026 (a header on the same page shows 304 "Deals handled"; Vendr's Clari page: median $76,000, 291 purchases, same month). |
| Analyst recognition | Gartner Magic Quadrant for Revenue Action Orchestration Leader in 2025 and 2026, per Gong; Forrester Wave: Revenue Orchestration Platforms Leader (Q3 2024, per Gong; Q3 2026 placement not found); neither is a revenue enablement evaluation. | Salesloft says Clari was a Leader and Salesloft a Visionary in the first Gartner Magic Quadrant for Revenue Action Orchestration (2025), and that Salesloft was a Leader in The Forrester Wave: Revenue Orchestration Platforms for B2B, Q3 2024; Gartner's 2026 abstract lists Salesloft without showing placements. |
| Company status | Private and venture-backed, led by co-founder and CEO Amit Bendov; raised a $250M Series E at $7.25B (June 2021, TechCrunch), the latest round we found; Gong said ARR passed $500M in May 2026 (Gong). | Completed its merger with Clari on 3 December 2025, with Steve Cox as CEO (Salesloft); operates as Salesloft, with clari.com redirecting there; Vista Equity Partners invested in December 2021 (Salesloft). |
| Best for | Revenue teams that want conversation-based AI at the core, with engagement, forecasting and coaching added as applications. | Revenue teams that run outbound and deal execution through cadences and want Clari forecasting and inspection on the same platform. |
What is the difference between Gong and Salesloft?
They start from different data. Gong starts from customer conversations: its conversation intelligence page says it captures "calls, emails, meetings, and more" automatically and analyses them for key topics, objections, competitor mentions and buying signals. Gong calls the whole platform a Revenue AI OS, bringing together three parts: the Revenue Graph, the Revenue Harness and its applications (Gong). Its help centre says a plan is a core licence for the Gong Foundation platform plus optional applications: Enable Essentials, Forecast Essentials, Gong Forecast, Gong Engage and Data Cloud (help centre). Gong Enable, which VentureBeat described as a brand-new product with its own pricing tier, was announced in February 2026 (VentureBeat).
Salesloft pairs sales engagement with Clari's forecasting and now presents its platform as "the Predictive Revenue System" (Salesloft). Its platform page splits revenue execution for account teams (Cadence, Conversation Intelligence, Deals and Rhythm) from revenue intelligence for executives and RevOps (Clari Forecast, Inspect, Revenue Cadences and Analytics), on a shared revenue data layer with Signals. Much of the second half came from Clari. The two companies announced their merger on 7 August 2025 (Salesloft) and completed it on 3 December 2025, when Steve Cox became CEO of the combined company rather than Clari's Andy Byrne, as first announced (Salesloft). Salesloft is the brand: clari.com now redirects to salesloft.com, and Clari survives as a product name.
The Salesloft product line is still settling. Its platform page keeps separate logins for Clari Forecast, for Conversations on Clari Copilot's domain and for Groove, and we found no migration timeline. Neither vendor lists a content library or digital sales rooms on its product pages: Gong says Gong Enable is "designed to enhance your existing stack rather than replace it" (Gong Enable), and Salesloft's Cadence takes third-party content through integrations.
Gong is private and venture-backed. It said in May 2026 that its ARR had passed $500 million, that more than 5,000 companies use it and that half of its customers run more than one Gong product (Gong). Vista Equity Partners invested in Salesloft in December 2021 at a $2.3 billion valuation (Salesloft), and the merger announcement said the combined company would serve more than 5,000 organisations. Neither merger release mentions Vista, and we found no statement of the combined company's ownership.
Gong vs Salesloft for conversation intelligence, engagement and forecasting
Both record and analyse calls. Gong says its AI agents write summaries, update CRM fields and suggest follow-ups (Gong), and it claims 70+ languages without breaking the figure down by feature (Gong). Salesloft's Conversation Intelligence records, transcribes and analyses calls, with AI call summaries, follow-up emails, automated CRM updates, live call coaching and real-time battlecards; the page does not list supported languages. Salesloft's July 2026 MCP release describes this call data as Clari Copilot call intelligence.
For engagement, Gong Engage covers Engage Flows, email with AI Composer, AI Tasker, a dialer, dashboards, Gong Enrich and Gong Anywhere, which runs flows, emails and calls from inside Salesforce, and names integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics 365, ZoomInfo, 6sense and Chili Piper among others. Salesloft's Cadence covers multi-channel cadences, an email step builder, a sales dialer, a mobile app whose tasks are prioritised by Conductor AI, a meeting scheduler, templates and snippets, with Rhythm and its Rhythm Prioritizer agent beside it. Since its Spring 2026 update, a Clari Copilot integration also creates follow-up emails and tasks from call action items.
Forecasting is where the Clari merger shows. Gong sells two levels: Forecast Essentials, with unlimited Deal Boards and Account Boards, AI Deal Reviewer, Win/Loss Insights and Deal Drivers, and Gong Forecast, which adds forecast submission, AI Deal Predictor, Forecast Analytics and AI Revenue Predictor (Gong Forecast). Salesloft spreads the job across three products. Clari Forecast has an AI Forecast Agent that reads historical deal data and live rep activity, an AI projection shown beside plan and commit figures, and at-risk deal flags with next best actions. Inspect flags risky commit deals with AI Insights, a CRM Score trend and a Deal Indicator for issues such as a missing next meeting. Deals fills MEDDPICC, BANT and SPICED views from call transcripts and inspects buying groups. The same update lets users trigger Salesloft tasks and AI-written emails from inside Clari Inspect and Forecast.
Analysts place both in revenue orchestration rather than enablement. In the first Gartner Magic Quadrant for Revenue Action Orchestration (15 December 2025), Gong says it was a Leader (Gong), and Salesloft says Clari was a Leader and Salesloft a Visionary (Salesloft). In the edition dated 13 October 2026, Gong says it is again a Leader, one of four among 13 vendors (Gong); Gartner's abstract lists Salesloft among the 13, and we found no Salesloft statement of its placement. Both say they were Leaders in the Forrester Wave: Revenue Orchestration Platforms for B2B, Q3 2024 (Gong, Salesloft); we found neither vendor's placement in the Q3 2026 edition.
How do Gong and Salesloft compare on AI agents, coaching and integrations?
Both name a long list of agents. Gong's AI agents page lists 16 pre-built agents, from AI Data Extractor, AI Trainer and AI Call Reviewer to AI Deal Predictor, AI Revenue Predictor and AI Translator, plus Agent Builder for custom agents, Agent Studio and the Revenue Harness for permissions, oversight and auditability; Deep Mode in Gong Assistant and Gong Enrich became generally available on 30 September 2026 (Gong). Salesloft's AI agents page names Account Research, Person Research, Buyer Identification (with ZoomInfo), Ask Salesloft, Rhythm Prioritizer, AI Email Steps for Cadence, Deal Summaries, Sales Methodology Extraction, Stalled Deals Insight, Objection Handling Insight, Analytics Interpreter and Sales Strategist, without pricing or availability details.
Both open their data to outside AI assistants. Gong MCP combines a server for tools such as Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot with a client that lets Gong agents reach external systems, and is listed on any Gong plan; the server draws on Gong credits (help centre). On 9 July 2026 Salesloft extended its MCP Server to the whole Clari + Salesloft platform, covering Cadence and activity data, Clari Copilot call intelligence and Clari forecasting and deal-inspection data, with write-back; Claude got a native connector listing, with ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini connectors due through late summer 2026 (Salesloft). Neither Salesloft's agents page nor that release says whether the agents or the MCP Server cost extra.
Coaching is the clearest difference. Gong Enable lists AI Trainer, AI Coach, Dry Run, AI Call Reviewer, a coaching inbox, coaching metrics, Lessons and Initiative Tracking, and Gong's help centre lists AI Trainer, with voice role play in 24 languages, on the Enable plan only (help centre); the Gong Enable pricing guide covers its plans. Salesloft does not list a training, learning or AI role-play module on its product pages; its coaching works from calls: live call coaching, real-time battlecards and the Sales Strategist agent.
Teams that run both can connect them for calls. Gong's help centre documents Salesloft as a telephony system, linked through the Salesloft API (updated 9 February 2026) or through Salesforce, so recorded Salesloft calls are imported into Gong; the API article adds call disposition, purpose, direction and voicemail. Both articles describe calls only, not emails or cadences. Content tools plug into both: the Gong Collective lists 460 integrations and partners, and its Content category includes Highspot, Seismic, Showpad, Spekit AI and Aligned, while a Highspot listing in the Salesloft Marketplace (270 partners listed) turns Highspot pitch views, downloads and shares into Rhythm plays and lets reps add Highspot content to cadences and emails.
On security, Gong's trust page lists SOC 2 Type 2, ISO/IEC 27001:2022, 27017, 27018, 27701 and ISO/IEC 42001:2023, and says customer data is hosted on AWS and "never used to train generative AI models". Salesloft's security page lists annual SOC 2 Type 2 examinations, an ISO 27001 programme re-certified annually, ISO 27701 and GDPR and CCPA/CPRA compliance, with hosting on AWS and GCP in the US and EU and Clari in the US; it does not mention ISO 42001. Its platform FAQ says Salesloft uses private AI models so that a customer's data is never used to train models for other customers.
How does Gong pricing compare to Salesloft pricing?
Neither lists prices on its website. Gong's pricing page says licences are priced per user, with a platform fee based on the number of users supported, and that integrating your existing stack is free. Its Buying Gong FAQ says Gong prices "through a consultative approach" rather than standardised packages. Each paid core seat includes 2,000 Gong credits a year, pooled across the company (help centre), for features such as the MCP server, Deep Mode, Gong Enrich and question-based AI Trackers; more come in prepaid bundles through the Gong account team, and the credits FAQ lists no price per credit (Gong). Salesloft's /pricing URL opens a Talk to Sales page with no packages, prices or free trial. G2 lists two Salesloft editions, Advanced and Premier, both "Contact Us", with forecasting and revenue management only in Premier, and says there is no free trial or free plan (updated 29 July 2026). G2 also states that Gong does not offer a free trial.
Vendr reports a median Gong contract of $55,359 a year (1,145 purchases, last updated March 2026), ranging from $11,497 to $203,683, observed prices of $1,200 to $2,400 per seat a year for mid-market and enterprise buyers, and Engage and Forecast commonly quoted at 20–40% of the base platform cost per seat. Vendr reports a median Salesloft contract of $30,740 a year (710 purchases, February 2026), ranging from $5,152 to $146,494. It describes per-user, per-month pricing billed annually, a typical minimum of 10 to 15 users, Conversations, Rhythm and Deals priced as add-ons, and estimated list prices from about $75–$100 per user per month for Essentials to $165–$200+ for Premier; those are Vendr's estimates, not Salesloft figures. Both pages show lower "deals handled" counts in their headers (593 for Gong, 304 for Salesloft), so treat the figures as directional.
The Salesloft figure may not include Clari. Vendr keeps a separate Clari page: a median of $76,000 a year (291 purchases, February 2026), ranging from $19,065 to $415,001, with per-user subscriptions for core modules plus platform or base fees for enterprise deployments, and it does not mention the merger. If you want cadences and Clari Forecast, ask Salesloft for one quote that names every product, and ask Gong to show the Foundation licence, each application, the platform fee and the credit pool as separate lines. Compare scope, not medians; the Gong pricing guide breaks down Gong's quote.
Frequently asked questions
Which is better, Gong or Salesloft?
Neither is better in general. Gong suits teams that want conversation intelligence at the core, with forecasting, engagement and AI role-play coaching from the same vendor. Salesloft suits teams that run outbound through cadences and want Clari forecasting and deal inspection on the same platform. Pilot both on the same pipeline and the same calls.
Did Salesloft merge with Clari?
Yes. Clari and Salesloft announced their merger on 7 August 2025 and completed it on 3 December 2025, with Steve Cox as CEO. The company operates as Salesloft, clari.com redirects to salesloft.com, and Clari Forecast, Clari Inspect and Clari Copilot remain product names.
How much do Gong and Salesloft cost?
Neither lists prices on its website. Vendr reports a median Gong contract of $55,359 a year (1,145 purchases, March 2026) and a median Salesloft contract of $30,740 a year (710 purchases, February 2026). Gong charges per user plus a platform fee; Vendr describes Salesloft as per user per month, billed annually, with add-ons priced separately. See the Gong pricing guide.
Does Gong integrate with Salesloft?
Yes, for calls. Gong's help centre documents Salesloft as a telephony system, connected through the Salesloft API or through Salesforce, so recorded Salesloft calls are imported into Gong, with call disposition, purpose and direction through the API. The articles describe calls only, not emails or cadences.
What are the alternatives to Gong and Salesloft?
For sales engagement with forecasting, see Outreach vs Salesloft. Neither Gong nor Salesloft lists content management or digital sales rooms on its product pages, which enablement platforms such as Highspot add; Highspot vs Gong covers how the two connect. Revspire combines governed content, AI playbooks, AI role-play and digital sales rooms, priced by module with unlimited user licenses (pricing).
