Demandbase or ZoomInfo: which should you choose?

Demandbase vs ZoomInfo compares an ABM platform with a B2B contact data platform; neither publishes prices. Choose Demandbase for account-based marketing, intent advertising and one plan for marketing and sales. Choose ZoomInfo for the larger contact database it states and use-case packages.

Choose Demandbase if…

  • You run account-based marketing with advertising: Demandbase's Advertising uses "intent data and a B2B-native DSP", and Demandbase says it is a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for ABM Platforms.
  • You want one plan for marketing and sales: Demandbase says it does not split the platform into separate Marketing or Sales solutions and tailors one plan for all GTM teams.
  • You want a simple pricing structure: Demandbase describes a platform fee covering software and services plus a flat fee per user, and its pricing page mentions no credits.
  • You want AI agents tied to Salesforce: Demandbase's newsroom says it was named flagship data partner for Hunter, Salesforce's new outbound sales agent.

Choose ZoomInfo if…

  • Contact data is the main job: ZoomInfo says it has "verified data on 500M+ contacts and 100M+ companies" and that "300+ human researchers verify records".
  • You want to start with one use case: ZoomInfo sells custom packages for eight jobs, six of them with a "Free trial" button on its pricing page.
  • You want an AI agent wired into your engagement stack: ZoomInfo says Copilot connects to Salesforce, HubSpot, Outreach, Salesloft and Gong.
  • Your budget is smaller: Vendr's median ZoomInfo contract is $33,500 a year (1,577 purchases, February 2026), against $68,591 for Demandbase.

What is the difference between Demandbase and ZoomInfo?

Demandbase is an account-based platform. It describes itself as "The pipeline engine for AI GTM that aligns teams to turn goals into revenue" (Demandbase), with Marketing to "Pinpoint the right accounts, personalize web journeys and convert more revenue", Sales to "Surface in-market accounts, map buying groups and automate outreach", Advertising on "intent data and a B2B-native DSP", and Data, which combines first- and third-party data.

ZoomInfo is a contact and company data platform that has added intent and AI. It calls itself "an all-in-one AI GTM Platform" (ZoomInfo) and names Sales, Marketing, Talent, Operations, Data as a Service, Copilot, GTM Workspace, GTM Studio, ZoomInfo MCP and Chorus conversation intelligence. Its pricing page includes an Account-based marketing package to "Identify, reach, and convert target accounts, down to the visitor on your site." So both sell account identification; Demandbase leads with it, ZoomInfo with contact records.

How do Demandbase and ZoomInfo compare on data and intent?

ZoomInfo states its coverage: "verified data on 500M+ contacts and 100M+ companies", with "300+ human researchers" verifying records and "1.5B+ data points" processed daily (ZoomInfo). Its credits measure exports: its pricing FAQ says "Each export costs one credit" and that viewing a profile uses none. Intent is priced separately: Streaming Intent is "based on expected usage", around the keywords and account universe tracked (ZoomInfo).

Demandbase gives no comparable counts; its about page says its platform "connects millions of data points into a single, meaningful view of buyers and accounts", and its products page says "We don't just grab data — we own it." Its data came partly through acquisitions: Spiderbook in 2016, Engagio in 2020, and InsideView and DemandMatrix in 2021, the last two to offer a "one-stop-shop" for quality data. Its pricing page mentions no credits or record limits, and says its Data solutions can be used on their own to bring Demandbase data into existing systems.

Test both on a list of your own target accounts: how many accounts each matches, how many contacts it returns for your buyer roles, and how many accounts it flags as in market over the same period.

Which AI agents do Demandbase and ZoomInfo offer?

Demandbase's AI page presents Demandbase AI as turning "pipeline goals into coordinated action": AI Chat helps teams "decide where to focus", AI Agents detect "key buying group signals" and trigger actions across sales and marketing, and MCP access puts "accounts, buying groups, and signals in ChatGPT, VS Code, GitHub Copilot, and Claude". It also offers Mojo, "the B2B marketing agent built by Demandbase". The page does not say whether these cost extra.

ZoomInfo's Copilot is "an AI sales agent that provides real-time, intelligent account analysis, research, and insights", with priorities that "update in real time as new signals come in", email drafting, research and sequencing "in the same workspace", deal briefs and CRM updates. Its pricing page prices API, MCP and CLI access through GTM.ai "on usage, not seats."

How does Demandbase pricing compare to ZoomInfo pricing?

Neither publishes prices. Demandbase's pricing page describes "a clear platform fee that covers all the essential software and services" plus "a flat fee per user", and offers Advertising "as a starting place". ZoomInfo's pricing page says "ZoomInfo offers custom packages based on your B2B data use cases and needs", and its FAQ says pricing is based on features, the number of licenses and credit usage.

The only dated contract data with sample sizes we found is Vendr's: a median Demandbase contract of $68,591 a year, ranging from $24,000 to $164,037 (187 purchases, February 2026) (Vendr), and a median ZoomInfo contract of $33,500 a year, ranging from $7,240 to $156,042 (1,577 purchases, February 2026) (Vendr). Both pages show smaller "deals handled" counts in their headers, so treat the medians as directional. They are Vendr estimates, not vendor prices.

Vendr says Demandbase quotes are built on target accounts, user seats, advertising spend commitments and data access levels, and describes ZoomInfo contracts as "a base platform fee plus per-seat licensing". Ask both for quotes on the same accounts, users and term, with advertising spend and credits shown separately. The Demandbase pricing and ZoomInfo pricing guides go into more detail.

What do Demandbase and ZoomInfo say about security and ownership?

Demandbase's security policy says it offers its current "Type II SOC 2 Security TSC report under NDA", runs at least annual third-party penetration tests and hosts primarily on AWS and Google Cloud Platform. ZoomInfo's homepage says it "holds ISO 27001, ISO 27701, SOC 2 Type II, TRUSTe GDPR, and TRUSTe CCPA certifications" and "processes professional contact data under GDPR's legitimate-interest basis". These are the vendors' statements; whether your own use of the data is lawful is a question for your privacy counsel.

Demandbase is private: it was founded in 2006 by Chris Golec, names Gabe Rogol as CEO and states more than 1,000 customers on its about page; the pages we checked state no funding or ownership. ZoomInfo is public: it changed its Nasdaq ticker from ZI to GTM, trading under the new symbol from 13 May 2025 (Business Wire), and its investor site presents it as "ZoomInfo (NASDAQ:GTM)".
