What can you export from Showpad, and how?

Migrating from Showpad starts with your renewal date and notice period. Showpad documents a CSV or XLSX list of your files and their properties, an Analytics Export App and a Content Reporting API. None returns the files themselves, so ask Showpad for those.

Showpad's help center documents an export of the file list. Administrators, and members promoted with content permission, can export the files they select in the library to CSV or XLSX on eOS Professional, Advanced or Expert plans (or legacy Content Essential and above). Each row is one file with its properties: ID, name, description, dates, tags, the Experiences that use it, sharing and download permissions, languages, authors and external ID. Files in the trash are left out.

For usage history, the Analytics Export App, updated on 9 December 2025, lets administrators export any Content Reporting table to Excel or CSV where Showpad Apps is enabled. The Content Reporting API returns the same reporting data as JSON or CSV to an administrator with an OAuth token, up to 1,000 events per request.

What Showpad documents publicly about getting each kind of data out, checked 31 October 2026
DataWhat is documented publiclyWhat to ask Showpad for
Library filesNot documented publicly as a bulk download. The file list export covers properties, not the files.A full export of every file and its versions, in the original formats.
File properties and tagsThe file list export to CSV or XLSX, with tags, permissions, languages and the Experiences each file is used in.Nothing more if the export covers every file you need; check it against your library count.
Experiences and pagesNot documented publicly. The structure of each Experience and the files on each page, so sellers find content in the same place.
Training and coachingNot documented publicly.Courses, paths, quizzes, certifications and completion records per user.
AnalyticsThe Analytics Export App and the Content Reporting API (asset views, shares and shared space activity).Confirmation of how much history the export covers, and a final export before the end date.
Shared spacesParticipation data through the Content Reporting API.Space contents and buyer activity for deals that are still open.

Whatever Showpad provides, keep your own source files. If your team came to Showpad through Bigtincan or Brainshark, those products may hold their own content and records; ask which export applies to each before you plan the move.

Remapping checklist: content, training and analytics

Work through these before you move anything. Our sales enablement migration plan template turns the list into a dated plan with an owner per line.

  • Content audit. Use the file list export to see every file with its dates and tags, and retire what nobody has opened in a year. Every file you retire is one you do not have to map, load or test.
  • Tags. Map the tags your sellers filter by, such as region, product and language, to the new platform's tags or fields before you load anything.
  • Experiences. List each Experience your reps open and decide how its pages and sections will be rebuilt, so field sellers still find content in one tap.
  • Permissions. Recreate sharing and download permissions by role and region so restricted files are never briefly shareable.
  • Training. Export completion and certification records for compliance, decide which courses to rebuild, and plan to re-certify reps on the new platform.
  • Analytics. Save the reports leadership relies on, with their definitions, so you can compare like with like after the move.
  • Integrations. List every connection in use, including CRM, email and any Showpad Apps, and confirm each one exists on the other side.

Contract and renewal questions to settle before you give notice

Vector Capital combined Showpad with Bigtincan in October 2025. Ask these by email and keep the answers:

  • What is our renewal date, our notice period and the auto-renewal clause, and are any products, such as Brainshark, on a different term from the rest?
  • In what format, and by what date, will you return our files, tags, Experiences, training records and analytics after termination?
  • Does our plan include the Content Reporting API and Showpad Apps, which the analytics exports need?
  • Can we keep read-only access for a short period after the end date while we verify the migration?
  • If we stay, which current plan does our contract map to, and at what renewal price? Our Showpad pricing guide lists the plans and what drives a quote.

A realistic Showpad migration timeline

Plan backwards from your Showpad notice date. The slowest steps are usually getting the files themselves back and rebuilding Experiences, because neither has a documented export.

Migration phases, ordered from your Showpad notice date
PhaseWhenWhat happens
DecideBefore the notice period startsShortlist, pilot with one team, and get the export commitments above in writing.
AuditBefore you give noticeExport the file list, inventory Experiences, training and reports, and retire what you will not move.
ExportWhile you still have full accessPull files, the file list, training records and analytics, and check them against the inventory.
RebuildAfter the new contract is signedLoad content, map tags, recreate permissions, rebuild Experiences and training.
Cut overBefore the Showpad end dateMove teams in waves, keep open shared spaces in place until those deals close, then switch off.

If Revspire is the destination, its stated timing is that the first team is typically live 2 weeks after signature and full rollout takes about 6 weeks. The export and audit sit outside that window, so start them early.

Frequently asked questions

Can I export all my content from Showpad?

Showpad documents an export of your file list, with each file's properties, to CSV or XLSX. We found no public article on downloading every file in bulk, so ask your account team for a full export of the files in their original formats, and get the date in writing.

Can I export Showpad analytics?

Yes. Administrators can use the Analytics Export App to export Content Reporting tables to Excel or CSV where Showpad Apps is enabled, and the Content Reporting API returns the same data as JSON or CSV, up to 1,000 events per request.

How long does it take to switch from Showpad?

It depends most on library size, how many Experiences you rebuild and how quickly Showpad returns your files. Start at least one notice period before renewal. If Revspire is the destination, its first team is typically live 2 weeks after signature and full rollout takes about 6 weeks.

Does the Bigtincan deal change how we migrate from Showpad?

It can if you use Bigtincan Hub or Brainshark, which Showpad still runs as separate products. Ask Showpad which export covers each product you use, and which plan your contract maps to at renewal. Our Showpad review covers the combined company.

What is a good Showpad replacement?

It depends on what you used most. Our Showpad review lists the main alternatives, Highspot vs Seismic vs Showpad compares three suites, and Revspire vs Showpad compares Revspire module by module.
