What can you export from Seismic, and how?
Migrating from Seismic starts with your renewal date and notice period. Seismic publishes no public bulk-export guide, but its own connector documentation lists actions to list, query and download library files and versions, and its developer portal offers a Reporting API.
Seismic documents programmatic access to its library in public, though we found no public guide to a one-click bulk export. The Seismic Library connector, published by Seismic on Microsoft Learn and last updated on 30 April 2025, lists actions including "Get the list of items in a folder", "Get items by query", "Get all versions for an item", "Download a file", "Download a file version" and "Get file information or properties".
Seismic's developer portal, checked on 31 October 2026, lists an API reference, webhooks, Power Automate connectors and a Reporting API, which it describes as answering business questions about how the platform is used. Ask your account team which of these your contract includes, and whether Seismic will run a full export for you.
| Data | What is documented publicly | What to ask Seismic for |
|---|---|---|
| Library files | Connector actions to list, query and download files and file versions. | A full export of every file with its folder, properties and version history. |
| Folder structure and properties | Connector actions to get folder and item information. | The folder tree and the custom properties used for search and personalization. |
| Templates and automated documents | Not documented publicly. | The source files and rules behind any document Seismic assembles automatically. |
| Training | Not documented publicly. | Courses, paths, quizzes and completion records per user. |
| Analytics | A Reporting API on the developer portal. | Content usage and engagement history for the period your reports cover. |
| Digital sales rooms | Not documented publicly. | Room contents and buyer engagement history for open deals. |
Whatever Seismic provides, keep your own source files. Rebuilding from the source is often cleaner than converting an export, especially for templated content.
Remapping checklist: content, training and analytics
Work through these before you move anything. Our sales enablement migration plan template turns the list into a dated plan with an owner per line.
- Content audit. List every item with its last-used date and retire what nobody has opened in a year. Every item you retire is one you do not have to map, load or test.
- Properties. Map the custom properties your sellers filter by, such as region, product and persona, to the new platform's tags or fields before you load anything.
- Templates. List every template that assembles or personalizes a document and decide how each will be rebuilt or replaced.
- Permissions. Recreate access groups by role and region so regulated content is never briefly visible to the wrong team.
- Programs. Rebuild live enablement programs and plays as the new platform's equivalent, with their linked content.
- Training. Export completion records for compliance, decide which courses to rebuild, and plan to re-certify reps on the new platform.
- Analytics. Save the reports leadership relies on, with their definitions, so you can compare like with like after the move.
- Integrations. List every connection in use from Seismic's 150+, including CRM, email, chat and AI assistants, and confirm each one exists on the other side.
Contract and renewal questions to settle before you give notice
Seismic completed its merger with Highspot on 18 August 2026 and has published nothing about changes to existing contracts. Ask these by email and keep the answers:
- What is our renewal date, our notice period and the auto-renewal clause, and are any modules on a different term from the rest?
- In what format, and by what date, will you return our content, properties, training records and analytics after termination?
- Which APIs and connectors does our contract include, and do any carry a separate fee?
- Can we keep read-only access for a short period after the end date while we verify the migration?
- If we stay, will our modules be repackaged after the merger, and at what renewal price? Our Highspot and Seismic merger guide lists the rest of the questions to put in writing.
A realistic Seismic migration timeline
Plan backwards from your Seismic notice date. The slowest steps are usually the property mapping and the template rebuild, because they depend on how your library was configured over the years.
| Phase | When | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Decide | Before the notice period starts | Shortlist, pilot with one team, and get the export commitments above in writing. |
| Audit | Before you give notice | Inventory files, properties, templates, programs, training and reports, and retire what you will not move. |
| Export | While you still have full access | Pull files, versions, properties, training records and reports, and check them against the inventory. |
| Rebuild | After the new contract is signed | Load content, map properties to tags, recreate permissions, rebuild templates, programs and training. |
| Cut over | Before the Seismic end date | Move teams in waves, keep open deal rooms in place until they close, then switch off. |
If Revspire is the destination, its stated timing is that the first team is typically live 2 weeks after signature and full rollout takes about 6 weeks. The export and audit sit outside that window, so start them early.
Frequently asked questions
Can I export all my content from Seismic?
Seismic does not publish a bulk-export guide, but its Seismic Library connector lists actions to list, query and download files and file versions and to read file properties. Ask your account team which APIs your contract includes, and request a full export with properties in writing.
How long does it take to switch from Seismic?
It depends most on library size, property mapping and how many templates you rebuild. Start at least one notice period before renewal. If Revspire is the destination, its first team is typically live 2 weeks after signature and full rollout takes about 6 weeks.
Can I export Seismic analytics?
Seismic's developer portal lists a Reporting API for questions about how the platform is used. Save the reports you rely on, with their definitions, before the end date, and ask what history Seismic will return after termination.
Does the Highspot merger change how we migrate from Seismic?
Nothing published changes existing Seismic contracts. The practical effect is at renewal: ask whether your modules will be repackaged and get the renewal price for the full term in writing. See our merger guide.
What is a good Seismic replacement?
It depends on what you used most. Our Seismic review lists the main alternatives with neutral head-to-heads, and Revspire vs Seismic compares Revspire module by module.
