What can you export from Highspot, and how?
Migrating from Highspot starts with your renewal date and notice period. Highspot publishes no public bulk-export guide, so plan content exports through its API, which a third party says needs the Platform Plus add-on, or from your original source files.
Highspot's public pages do not describe a bulk export of spots, items, Sales Plays or training. Its integrations page, checked on 31 October 2026, speaks of "native integrations and open APIs", and its pricing page lists "Insights Layer APIs" in the Best package. We found no public Highspot help article on exporting content, so ask your account team for its export documentation in writing.
The most specific public description of API access we found is third-party. Onyx, which builds a connector that reads Highspot content, says "Highspot Platform Plus is an add-on feature that provides access to the API", that an administrator enables API access and issues a key and secret, and that the connector can index every Spot the API user can view and download, one document per content item. That describes read access for a search tool, not a Highspot export feature, but it tells you to check whether your contract includes API access before you plan an export around it.
| Data | What is documented publicly | What to ask Highspot for |
|---|---|---|
| Content files | API access, which Onyx says requires the Platform Plus add-on. No public bulk-export guide. | A full export of every file with its spot, tags, owner, expiry date and version history. |
| Spots and permissions | Not documented publicly. | The spot structure and who can see each spot, as a spreadsheet. |
| Sales Plays | Not documented publicly. | Each play's steps, linked content and audience, in a readable format. |
| Training | Not documented publicly. | Courses, learning paths, quizzes and completion records per user. |
| Analytics | Insights Layer APIs, listed in the Best package. Nothing else documented publicly. | Content usage and engagement history for the period your reports cover. |
| Digital sales rooms | Not documented publicly. | Room contents and buyer engagement history for open deals. |
Whatever Highspot provides, keep your own source files. Most content in an enablement platform started life in a shared drive or a design tool, and rebuilding from the source is often cleaner than converting an export.
Remapping checklist: content, training and analytics
Work through these before you move anything. Our sales enablement migration plan template turns the list into a dated plan with an owner per line.
- Content audit. List every item with its last-used date and retire what nobody has opened in a year. Migrating less is the fastest way to migrate.
- Structure. Map Highspot spots to the folders, collections or tags of the new platform, and decide who owns each one.
- Permissions. Recreate access groups by role and region before content arrives, so nothing is briefly visible to the wrong team.
- Sales Plays. Rebuild each live play as the new platform's equivalent, such as a playbook or guided sequence, with its linked content.
- Training. Export completion records for compliance, then decide which courses to rebuild and which to retire. Plan to re-certify reps on the new platform.
- Analytics. Save the reports leadership relies on, with their definitions, so you can compare like with like after the move.
- Integrations. List every CRM, email, chat and AI assistant connection, including any MCP or Copilot links, and confirm each one exists on the other side.
- Live deals. Leave open digital sales rooms where they are until those deals close, or move them one by one with the account owner.
Contract and renewal questions to settle before you give notice
Highspot merged into Seismic on 18 August 2026, and its merger page says nothing about existing contracts. Ask these by email and keep the answers:
- What is our renewal date, our notice period and the auto-renewal clause, and which Seismic or Highspot entity now holds our contract?
- In what format, and by what date, will you return our content, metadata, training records and analytics after termination?
- Does our contract include API access, or is that part of an add-on such as Platform Plus?
- Can we keep read-only access for a short period after the end date while we verify the migration?
- If we stay, which product line will we be on in twelve and twenty-four months? Our Highspot and Seismic merger guide lists the rest of the questions to put in writing.
A realistic Highspot migration timeline
Plan backwards from your Highspot notice date, and expect the slowest step to be the export from Highspot, because its scope and format depend on what your account team agrees to provide.
| Phase | When | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Decide | Before the notice period starts | Shortlist, pilot with one team, and get the export commitments above in writing. |
| Audit | Before you give notice | Inventory content, plays, training and reports, and retire what you will not move. |
| Export | While you still have full access | Pull files, metadata, training records and reports, and check them against the inventory. |
| Rebuild | After the new contract is signed | Load content, recreate structure and permissions, rebuild plays and training. |
| Cut over | Before the Highspot end date | Move teams in waves, keep open deal rooms in place until they close, then switch off. |
If Revspire is the destination, its stated timing is that the first team is typically live 2 weeks after signature and full rollout takes about 6 weeks. The export from Highspot sits outside that window, so start it early.
Frequently asked questions
Can I export all my content from Highspot?
Highspot does not document a bulk export publicly. Its pages mention open APIs and list Insights Layer APIs in the Best package, and Onyx's connector documentation says API access comes through the Platform Plus add-on. Ask your account team, in writing, for a full export of files with their metadata.
How long does it take to switch from Highspot?
It depends most on how long the export takes, which depends on what Highspot agrees to provide. Start at least one notice period before renewal. If Revspire is the destination, its first team is typically live 2 weeks after signature and full rollout takes about 6 weeks.
What happens to our Highspot analytics when we leave?
Highspot publishes no public export guide for analytics beyond listing Insights Layer APIs in its Best package. Save the reports you rely on, with their definitions, before the end date, and ask what history Highspot will return after termination.
Does the Seismic merger change how we migrate?
It changes who you negotiate with. The merger completed on 18 August 2026 and Highspot has published nothing about existing contracts, so confirm which entity holds yours and ask for the data-return terms in writing. See our merger guide.
What is a good Highspot replacement?
It depends on what you used most. Our Highspot review lists the main alternatives with neutral head-to-heads, and Revspire vs Highspot compares Revspire module by module.
